Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Polished Paper’s server secure?

Absolutely! Securing our clients’ private information is one of our top priorities. Accordingly, we use 256-bit SSL protection.

Will Polished Paper share my work with others?

Absolutely not! We are legally bound from sharing your information by our terms of service and our editors are contractually bound to comply with Polished Paper’s privacy policy. Furthermore, we place significant value on ethical business practices. You can rest assured that your documents and information will never be shared with another party.

What is a polished paper?

A polished paper stands out from other documents. A polished paper is free of lexical, grammatical, and stylistic errors. A polished paper is concise, direct, and poignant. A polished paper is a conduit to a better future. In short, a polished paper sets you apart from your peers.

What types of documents do you accept?

We accept .doc, .docx, .pdf, .odt, .rtf, .ppt, and .pptx documents.

Do you charge more for English language learners (ELL)?

No we do not. While charging more for ELL documents is popular within the editing industry, Polished Paper rejects this practice. We feel that it is important to not only present you with an excellent document, but also to help you understand why a mistake may have been made.

If my document is finished early, will you return it early?

Of course! Unlike other companies that attempt to charge clients for returning documents early, if it is done, Polished Paper will return it immediately. However, we prioritize documents with shorter turnaround times to ensure we return documents to all of our clients on time. Consequently, we cannot guarantee early delivery on documents.

What styles do you edit?

We will accommodate your needs. The most popular styles—Business, APA, MLA, Chicago, Harvard, and CSE— are available for selection in our order menu. In addition, we also edit less common styles. We simply ask that you provide us with a link to the style guide and we will do the rest. For our corporate clientele, we offer services that conform to the guidelines you specify. Once again, all that we require is guidance on your preferences.

Do you edit references?

Polished Paper could hardly return you a polished paper if the references were not formatted correctly. Your references will be edited in the format you request, and to the standard that you expect.

How do you select editors?

Carefully. After a thorough review of qualifications, and before being entrusted with any client documents, all prospective editors are required to complete Polished Paper’s comprehensive editing examination. Only those editors who score excellent or above are offered the opportunity to edit for our clients. Next, follows a period of supervised editing, during which one of our senior editors will review all work for accuracy and attention to detail. Only after this phase are our editors allowed to “solo” edit a document.
